The Bristol-meets-Trinidad soca/electronica duo Jus Now have joined forces with respected DJ/producer Dismantle and Jamaican dancehall legend Busy Signal to create the future club anthem ‘Fire (Spotie)’.
‘Fire’ fuses the classic horn line from Outkast's classic ‘SpottieOttieDopaliscious’ with heavy soca-driven drums, an enchanting bassline and a highly uplifting and energetic vocal delivery from the esteemed Busy Signal, who famously featured on Major Lazer’s ‘Watch Out For This’.
The track first emerged in instrumental form as ‘Spotie’ and received huge support from Radio 1 – especially from Annie Mac who first championed the song by playing it as the opening track during her sets at Glastonbury and Creamfields. Jus Now and Dismantle have also instigated electric crowd reactions whenever they’ve played it, notably at this year’s Boomtown Festival.
Having produced music for most of reggae and soca's royalty including Bunji Garlin and Stylo G, Jus Now have been tearing up carnivals and dancefloors across the world with tracks like 'Tun Up' and Bunji Garlin’s 'Truck On The Road'.
Dismantle is an artist that's always been revered as releasing genre-defining music. With releases on labels such as Digital Soundboy, GutterFunk, Lobster Boy and more, his music has been played by a varied range of electronic music's finest including Laurent Garnier, Goldie, Redlight and Shy FX to name but a few. His recent summer track ‘Squash’ (on Maraki Records) was picked as Tune of the Month by Mixmag.
